Litex Lovech and CSKA Sofia meet each other in a game that will decide the winner of the Super Cup in Bulgaria. Champions Litex will go out at Stadion Lazur in Burgas on the back of their crucial loss to Wisla Krakow and head coach Luboslav Penev already stated that he will rely on some reserve and youth players for the final. CSKA signed a few well known names and their pre season friendly games showed that they will go out as favourites in this game.
Litex Lovech did not have any difficulties retaining their title in the Bulgarian A PFG last year but they started their official games this season with a heart-breaking defeat to Polish champions Wisla in the first leg of the Third Qualifying Round of the Champions League (1:2). Despite the defeat the Oranges played some very good football and created many chances hitting the post twice. This probably keeps their hopes for the return leg alive and Penev will give the chance to some of his reserve players against CSKA Sofia on Saturday night which means that we will not see the best from the symbolic hosts.
CSKA Sofia won the Bulgarian Cup for the 20th time in their history last year in a dramatic final against Slavia Sofia (1:0) and this means that they will begin their Europa League campaign from the play-off round in mid-August. Head coach Milen Radukanov will definitely field his best starting eleven on Saturday but there are still a few question marks over who will be preferred upfront as the competition between Delev, Platini, Zicu and Moraes is very hard. CSKA did well in the pre-season friendly games in Holland and their fans will be hopeful of a good performance against Litex.
CSKA did not lose against Litex in the three games last season (1-2-0) so they will also have the psychological edge here and the odds of 2.62 look worth the risk.
