Elfsborg welcome Djurgarden in a game from Round 18 in the Swedish Allsvenskan league on Sunday. Both teams have been performing very well in recent weeks and the match between the two teams at Boras Arena will be one of a high quality and intensity. However, I think that the great home form of Elfsborg and the quality of their strikers should be enough to get the three points.
Elfsborg are currently lying in 2nd place in the championship and trail leaders Helsingborg by three points so their game on Sunday will be very important. The team will probably be tired after their Thursday game from the Europa League against Suduva but the progression to the next round will definitely be a huge boost for the players. Elfsborg’s home record has been impressive in recent weeks as they recorded 8 consecutive wins in all competitions (8-0-0) scoring at least two goals in each and every game. Elfsborg also have four straight win in the Allsvenskan and they will clearly go out as favourites.
Djurgarden started the season in an awful way but they are constantly gaining speed and the team have now climbed up to 10th place in the league. Djurgarden lost heavily 0:3 against leaders Helsingborg two weeks ago but they bounced back straight away with an important home win against Mjallby thanks to a late strike by Oremo. The team have won five of the last seven games in the Allsvenskan (5-1-1) but their away record still needs vast improvement if they are to climb further up the table as they have lost five of the eight games on the road this season (2-1-5).
Elfsborg won the reverse fixture at Djurgarden earlier this season and they will be looking to repeat the scoreline again this Sunday.
