Djurgarden take on Mjallby in a game from Round 17 in the Swedish Allsvenskan League on Saturday. The game will be played at Stockholms Olympiastadion and kicks off at 17:00 GMT with the home side being in a far more convincing form. The hosts are gradually climbing up the table and their good form in recent weeks make me pick them here at 1.70.
Djurgarden are only 11th in the current standings of the Swedish Allsvenskan league but having in mind the slow start of the season they made this can be even seen as an achievement. The team played current leaders Helsingborg twice in only a week so the fact that they only got a point must not mislead you. Prior to that, Djurgarden had recorded four straight wins with the combined goal difference of 10:1. They will mainly rely on Igboananike and Youseff upfront although goals are coming from all over the squad at the moment. Djurgarden have only conceded twice in the last five games at home, winning three of them (3-1-1).
Mjallby are sitting at the bottom of the table with only rock-bottom team Halmstad behind them. The visitors have collected only 14 points from the opening 16 games in the league and they urgently need to pick up their form if they do not want to be relegated at the end of the season. The team’s form at the moment is awful as they have only won once in the last six games in the league (1-0-5). Mjallby lost to Hacken the previous weekend at home (1:2) which means they have now conceded 18 goals in the last six league games!
Djurgarden have won both games against Mjallby at home that they have played in recent years and the odds of 1.70 look tasty for this match.
